What started with 10–15 kids has grown to around 50 young players. Fortress Table Tennis and DT Strassen celebrate a thriving collaboration that is developing champions and transforming youth table tennis in the region.
Fortress Table Tennis Luxembourg is proud to highlight the remarkable success of our ongoing partnership with DT Strassen — the table tennis club of the Commune of Strassen, Luxembourg.
## From Small Beginnings to Big Impact
When Fortress first began working with DT Strassen, we started with a modest group of just 10–15 children. Today, that number has grown to around 50 young players who train regularly and compete with increasing confidence and skill. This growth is a testament to the dedication of both organisations and, most importantly, to the passion and hard work of the kids themselves.
## Competing and Winning
The fruits of this collaboration are visible on the competition floor. Players who developed through the Fortress–DT Strassen programme have gone on to participate in several of Strassen's different teams, representing the club at various levels. Along the way, they have won multiple trophies and medals — achievements that would not have been possible without the structured coaching, regular match play, and supportive environment provided by both associations.
## A Model for Youth Development
This partnership is about more than numbers and medals. It is about creating a pathway for young athletes — giving them the technical training, competitive experience, and team spirit they need to thrive both on and off the table. By combining Fortress's professional coaching methodology with DT Strassen's deep roots in the local community, we have built a programme that truly puts youth development first.
## Looking Ahead
Fortress Table Tennis will continue to work closely with DT Strassen for the development of their players in the seasons to come. Together, we aim to keep growing the programme, reaching more children in the Commune of Strassen, and nurturing the next generation of table tennis talent in Luxembourg.
We would like to extend a special thank you to DT Strassen President Christian Lecoq and Vice President Vincent Piocel for their trust, vision, and continued cooperation. Their commitment to youth development has been instrumental in making this partnership a success. Thank you also to the entire DT Strassen committee, coaches, and families. This is what grassroots sport is all about: two associations coming together for the benefit of the kids. Here's to many more years of growing together! 🏓
