Fortress Table Tennis hosted a 4-day international training camp from April 14–17, 2025 at the DT Recken hall in Mersch, welcoming coach Gaber Elzaher and players from the Hessen region of Germany.
From April 14 to 17, 2025, Fortress Table Tennis Luxembourg hosted an international training camp at the DT Recken hall in Mersch. The camp brought together our Fortress players and coaching staff with a visiting delegation from Germany — coach Gaber Elzaher from the Hessen region, accompanied by several of his players.
Over four intensive days, participants took part in a packed programme of multi-ball drills, match play, sparring sessions, and physical conditioning. A key highlight of the camp was the inclusion of dedicated 1-on-1 coaching sessions with individual players identified as having high potential, allowing our coaches — Mirko Habel, Kai Qi Gui, and Christian Kill — to provide targeted technical and tactical feedback.
## Programme
- Multi-ball training drills
- Competitive match play and sparring
- Fitness and physical conditioning
- 1-on-1 sessions with high-potential players
## International Exchange
Having German players train alongside our Luxembourg-based athletes created a fantastic atmosphere of friendly competition and mutual learning. Players on both sides were pushed out of their comfort zones, gaining valuable experience against different playing styles and approaches.
The camp reinforced Fortress's commitment to building international connections and giving our players regular exposure to opponents from outside Luxembourg. We are grateful to Gaber Elzaher and his players for making the trip, and we look forward to more collaborations like this in the future.
Thank you to all the players, parents, and coaches who made this camp a success! 🏓
