Fortress players travelled to Bad Aibling, Germany for a high-performance camp with TopSpin Academy, supervised by 2003 World Champion Werner Schlager.
In February 2024 Fortress Table Tennis Luxembourg partnered with the TopSpin Performance Academy in Bad Aibling, Germany for an unforgettable training camp. The highlight of the week was the involvement of Werner Schlager — the 2003 World Table Tennis Champion from Austria — who personally supervised training sessions and shared his decades of experience at the highest level of the sport.
Our young athletes had the rare opportunity to receive feedback from a true legend of the game, working on tactical awareness, stroke technique, and competitive mindset. Schlager's philosophy — combining discipline with creative problem-solving at the table — resonated deeply with our players and coaches alike.
The camp brought together talents from Luxembourg, Germany, and beyond, creating an intense but fun environment where friendships were forged and skills sharpened. Training sessions ran from early morning to late afternoon, covering everything from multi-ball drills and match-play simulations to physical conditioning and mental preparation.
A special moment came at the end of the camp when all participants signed a Fortress t-shirt as a lasting memento of the experience. We are proud of every player who represented Fortress at this event and look forward to continuing our partnership with TopSpin Performance Academy in the future.
